Isaac (on trumpet in the back row) performed at a Jazz Festival with his high school jazz band. Afterwards, I took him to Fenton's for a big ice-cream sundae. I'm usually a "let's have ice-cream cones or fruit smoothies at home to celebrate"-type mom, but I realized that in 3 short years, Isaac will be away at college. I don't want him sitting sadly on his college dorm bed one day wondering why his mother NEVER EVER took him out for a big ice-cream sundae at an ice-cream parlour. And now he won't have to go through that ordeal. My conscience is clear.

I was thinking that it probably wouldn't be Isaac that would be the sad one but you for the lost opportunity--(at least that's what will likely happen to me since I don't take mine out for ice cream either!)
Okay, that sentence that said Isaac will be away at college in three short years really scared me. Yikes! When did all of this growth occur? I am very young still and when I hear of my nephews going to college, it makes me feel old somehow. Keep up the good work, California Riley's Love the Portland Rileys
