When Josh was putting together his space derby rocket for Cub Scouts, he decided it looked like a peeled carrot. So he painted it orange and called it the "F-64 Bunny Blaster".

He made a cool carrying case for the rocket.

Josh would not give up until his rocket could make it all the way across the gym, so we were the last ones there that night. We are thankful for great leaders who do such fun activities for the boys! Josh loved winding the rubber bands (above) and watching his rocket fly along the track (string).

Josh wanted a remote-control helicopter for Christmas. When he saw it on Christmas morning, he was ecstatic and told us, "The human mind cannot comprehend the limits of my gratitude."

Here he is flying the helicopter. He built a landing pad for it out of Legos but is still working on landing it slowly and gently. Thankfully, the helicopter came with a repair kit and spare parts because there have been many crash landings and needed repairs.

For Josh's science fair project, he flew paper airplanes with different amounts of weight (paper clips). After Lyrad helped Josh write it all up and graph it, Josh was thrilled to win the "Experiment" category in his class. Then he was chosen 1st place (tied with one other) boy in the whole 4th grade! (144 students) So he now moves on to the regional competition.
Lyrad also helped Rachel with her science project, testing how different types of music affect blood pressure (using the songs "Silent Night" and the "Rocky" theme). There is no lack of homework here in Texas!
