Isaac is enjoying this weekend of 4 Les Miserables performances! The rest of us are really enjoying watching him and the show. In the first video (above), Isaac is singing in "Drink with Me". Not a good recording job, but you get the idea. In the 2nd video above, it's the final number, with the whole cast. Isaac is on the top right, in the pinkish reddish long vest (his face is in the shadows).
It's fun to watch Isaac pop up throughout the show. For those who know the musical well, here are the lines Isaac sings:
In the first song (the convicts singing), Isaac is a convict with a pure white curly wig who reaches his handcuffed arms up high and sings, "How long...until you let me die?"
When Jean Valjean is finally free and getting paid for a day's work, Isaac sings to him, "You'll have to go, I"ll pay you off for the day, collect your bits and pieces then and be on your way."
Then after Fantine joins the Lovely Ladies, Isaac is the slimy guy who sings, "Here's something new, I think I'll give it a try..." then she pushes him away, so he knocks her down and tells Javert that she attacked him. "Javert, would you believe it, I was crossing through the park, when this _______ attacked me, you can see she left her mark!" Then she's dragged off to prison. Last night in Isaac's scuffle with Fantine, her wig fell off!
After Gavroche sings Little People, Isaac sings, "Bravo little Gavroche, you're the top of the class."
When Jean Valjean joins the fighters, Isaac sings, "You see that prisoner over there, a volunteer like you..."
Not only is Isaac the slimy guy, but he's also the drunk barricade fighter, Grantaire. Below you can see him acting drunk and standing on the chair singing "Red... Black..."
And as Grantaire he makes fun of Marius: "Some wine and say what's going on...You talk of battles to be won, and here he comes like Don Juan, it's better than an OOOO-PERA" (he really hams it up).
I love Isaac's lines in "Drink with Me": "Will the world remember you when you fall? Could it be your life means nothing at all? Is your life just one more lie?"
What a great experience for him... he's met lots of people and worked hard. Way to go, Isaac!!

Wow. That's quite a production. There's obviously a lot of talent involved, and Isaac does a great job. Mayreen and I had our first date going to see Les Mis, so it will always have a special place on our hearts :)
