Snow Day!

6:45 a.m. -- and no school! It's a snow day at last! Isaac was so excited about the possibility that he promised his friends he'd go outside in only shorts if it snowed. Of course Josh was right behind him!
We went sledding at Rachel's school, on a big fun hill, until all the snow was gone. We had some sleds from Germany, but several other people came to sled using laundry baskets, big plastic lids, and flat cardboard boxes.

Snowball fight!
Proving his manliness by putting his face in the snow (must be a boy thing)
After sledding, we had friends over for cocoa, ping pong, snowball fights, and face plants in the snow The snow was gone by afternoon, and it was hot the next few days. But we LOVED our one snow day in Texas! (even though the kiddos will now go to school on Memorial Day to make up for it)

This cracks me up. We've had FEET of snow for weeks. The last day or so it has been -20 (NOT counting the wind chill) and do you think we get a snow day? We have NEVER had a snow day! (One time when it was -30 they cancelled church and once cub scouts was cancelled but THAT'S IT!) Maybe I'll move to Texas! :)
