Birthday Celebration at Grandma's house

We have the cutest 2-year-old cousin/niece, Sydney, who will soon have a new sister. She can say all of our names, and it's always a suspenseful wait to see just WHO Sydney will choose to take her to the bathroom when she needs to go. I haven't attained that honor yet, but Rachel has!
Happy Birthday, Aunt Elizabeth!

Eliza, Madi, and Isaac are trying to convince Lyrad to get a Rock Band game set. They know their only chance to get my consent is if Lyrad really REALLY wants it. So far, their persuasive emails to the middle east have not done any good. I said I'd consider it someday if we only had songs from "Sound of Music" and "Oliver" and other musicals, and church songs. Then there'd be no drum set, only a violin or keyboard? They're not too excited about that option.

But WHY would we ever need Rock Band if Uncle Dan has it and plays it with them at Grandma's house? This video shows my brother Dan getting 100% on singing. He was quite impressive. It reminded me of when he was 3 years old and belted out the Winnie the Pooh songs while swinging on the swing set.

Happy Belated Birthday!

Rumor has it that there will be a Beatles edition of Rock Band this Christmas, so that could be fun.

As you've no doubt seen, the song selection skews strongly towards contemporary rock, and they have to be guitar/drum songs. But it's a lot of fun! We have 9 or 10 favorite songs for our family that we just play over and over.
