April Fool's Day

Josh enjoyed "cupcakes" for dinner (meat loaf in muffin papers, with mashed potatoes for "frosting").

Rachel's room was attacked by a giant spider while she was at school.

The day started with Josh getting up at 4 a.m. to put saran wrap on the girls' toilet.

Isaac has no lunch hour (he has classes during both lunch hours), so he eats during choir. Isaac's choir class had a good laugh when Isaac pulled out his sandwich, began to eat, but couldn't bite through the rubber piece of lettuce in the sandwich. (Lettuce from our play kitchen of years ago.) Eliza is a little more observant and didn't fall for the plastic vegetables I slipped into her sandwich.

In the afternoon, Rachel was excited to eat a lemon cookie with white glaze, but screamed when she realized the glaze was actually toothpaste. When Josh drank his milk with his snack, he quickly finished the ounce of milk in his cup which was sitting on top of a cup full of frozen water. Lyrad and Isaac left that evening for a weekend in Kansas City, but before they left I stuffed some dry rice in Lyrad's tube of toothpaste.
