Rachel took this photo while we were eating breakfast at the campsite.
We rode a cable car up to the top of Stone Mountain. Carved into the side of the mountain is a picture of 3 southern heros:
Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall Jackson. The tour guide claimed that this sculpture is larger than Mr. Rushmore.
We were all decked out for St. Patrick's Day, except for Rachel (who had green rubber bands on her braces so she felt that she didn't need a green shirt).
The children loved the ropes course at Stone Mtn! Josh was fearless and loved to walk backwards with his eyes shut, not holding on. I thought it was terrifying to walk a balance beam so high up with no handrails (I didn't trust the harness).
We toured old houses from before the Civil War...
Here's Josh in front of the slave cabins
Here is a luxury (?) out house -- different size holes so no children fall in. Talk about family togetherness!!??!!
Scarlett O'Hara? We enjoyed 4-D movies at Stone Mtn, the Aquarium, and World of Coke. The seats moved, water sprayed on us, and air blew on us as we watched the movies.
Mini golf
Madi and Eliza had fun chatting with twins and parents of twins
Josh loved this chess set at the Stone Mtn Inn! He is really into chess lately and always wants to play a game. Stone Mountain Park was a great family vacation spot and we all enjoyed our visit. Lyrad, Eliza and I got up and hiked to the top of Stone Mountain the next morning, before we moved on to other parts of Atlanta...
