We enjoyed a last day at the beach before everyone started school. We drove 2 hours away to Drake's Beach with 5 families from our ward. Rachel loved boogie boarding, Joshie loved running from the waves and building a sand castle, and Eliza and Madi enjoyed walking along the beach and hanging out with their friends. (Isaac stayed home to help Lyrad work on the storage shed they're building out back.) We enjoyed our beach day though the trip home took a little longer than we hoped; I told my friend who was riding with me that I wasn't good with directions and I needed her to navigate, so she did, but I don't think she realized how completely clueless I really was... As we drove and drove, we kept seeing more ocean and big city coming up. We live an hour in-land so I knew something was wrong. Then we rounded a bend and there was a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge at rush hour. We did not appreciate the view, however, as we tried to get out of the big city! But overall a fun day in the big waves of the cold northern CA beaches.
