Grandpa celebrated his birthday at our house and received lots of homemade gifts: joke book, poem, cards, crossword puzzle, and party hat.

Actually, the hat was a "duntz" hat that Joshie made last month. Because of budget cuts, the quality of education will be declining (good teachers are being laid off, class sizes are increasing, band and P.E. are being cut from elementary schools; plus curriculums teaching the homosexual lifestyle are being adopted by other CA schools), so Joshie is excited about the possibility of home schooling in the fall. He made the dunce cap for me to use on him if he doesn't behave in home school. Then he let Grandpa use it for his party hat.
Josh was also very proud of this banana cream pie that he made from scratch. His favorite part was crushing the graham crackers for the crust, and slicing lots of bananas, then he stirred and stirred the vanilla, corn starch, milk and sugar to make the filling, spread cool whip on it, then he made a face out of bananas (with coconut hair) on top.
Isaac's favorite thing to do with Grandpa is to play chess. They have an ongoing tournament and Isaac is happy to be ahead for now. THe only person Isaac has never been able to beat is my brother Jonny.... but he's practicing!
