At a ward dinner, Madi won the balancing-a-hymnbook-on-your-head contest. She even blew bubbles with her gum as she stood there. She also won the pasta-eating contest, eating a bowl of pasta with chopsticks while blindfolded. She was the only girl in that contest and beat several young men. After Rachel won the younger age group's pasta eating contest, people came over and asked me if I ever feed my kids. I think our family's advantage was our world traveling and eating with chopsticks in Japan and Guam and at Thai and Chinese restaurants. Madi also won a costume contest in her English class for dressing like a character from the book The Outsiders. Go Madi!Sunday, May 31, 2009

If you have a picture of the "Outsider's" costume, please post it. Alex just finished the book and he'd get a kick out of seeing it.
