Labor Day at the lake

On Labor Day, we played a soccer game with our friends from Houston (the 4 adults played against the 3 teenage soccer players; we thought we'd have 12 soccer players but the other 5 wanted to play on the playground and to play catch with the football instead of soccer). Then we went to the lake and had a blast jumping off of the cliff, floating in innertubes, eating watermelon and popcorn, and playing bocce ball. I was excited to jump off of the cliff until I saw how far down it was... the water had gone way down since last time we were here. I was terrified, until finally Lyrad held my hand and jumped with me. But the feeling of terror I felt as I fell led to a blood-curdling scream (and I forgot to plug my nose). I won't be doing that again. But Rachel and Josh jumped the 20 feet with no fear at all. It was a great day and we can't wait to visit our friends in Houston sometime; they've come to see us in Texas 3 times so far and our children get along so well. It's so fun to be reunited after 13 years!
