During Isaac's last week of high school, he sang, "There is Nothing Like a Dame" (from "South Pacific") in a variety show at school with a bunch of other guys.

Here is Isaac after being presented a scholarship from the local water treatment company. For this scholarship, Isaac wrote a 6-page essay on something like "One-point Groundwater Pollution." He has earned a total of 6 scholarships (and applied for several more) which will really help as he leaves for college in less than 3 weeks. After looking for a full-time job in CA or UT (where he could live with grandparents and work while we move across the country), he decided to attend BYU Summer Term and get a part-time job while there. He's already friended his 2 (summer term) roommates (one from Lehi, UT, and one from Washington) on FAcebook and was disappointed to see that one of his roommates does not like country music. Isaac is a big fan of country music now. He is proud to be a Texan and bought an orange Texas hat to wear in Utah. In the fall, Isaac will room with a friend from CA and they'll live in Helaman Halls (dorms).
Isaac wanted to fly to BYU with his friend here who is also attending summer term, so we found him a ticket on the same flight, which leaves at 5 a.m. the morning of Isaac's 18th birthday. Lots of kids talk about "leaving home the day they turn 18" and Isaac (coincidentally) is really doing it!
