Here we are after finishing our run -- Eliza, Madi and Rachel ran the 5K, and I ran the 10K. My goal is to run a half marathon this year, but I wasn't quite ready so decided to run the 10K this time and keep training for the half marathon. I wanted to finish the 10K in less than an hour, and I did (but not by much). I was running 5-6 days a week (about 3-4 miles a day), mostly on the treadmill (it's my reading time), but now I've switched to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday runs. I run longer distances and have a rest day in between. On Mondays, I run with my sister in law Becky. The last 2 weeks we've run well over an hour -- 9 or 10 miles each time. She's been running her whole life and doesn't even get winded. I feel like I'm huffing and puffing. But since I will soon be 40, I'm trying to become a better runner so I don't "feel" 40.
Eliza (who is running track and still playing soccer) won 1st place in her age group and 2nd place out of all women overall in the 5K.

The party along the beach after the race was fun... food and friends....
Lyrad was TDY so couldn't run with us, and Josh was relaxing at home with a muppets DVD.
With our friends from our ward, Sam, Angie, and Rebecca. They all 3 ran the half marathon, in less than 2 hours! Wow! And 2 of them are mothers of 4 and have newborn babies. This is quite a Running Ward -- 8 women in the ward have run marathons or half marathons in the past 2 months. I'm a little behind, but it's all about Personal Best, isn't it?? =)
