Snowy Colorado

Lyrad had 2 days of classes in Fort Collins, CO, in February.  Josh and I went along with him.  It was warm when we left Florida, but soon our coats would come in handy....

Josh loved the snow!  He built a little snowman (which made the hotel workers happy).  He had to keep coming inside and drying his shoes by the fire, since we have no waterproof shoes.

 

 Josh and I drove slowly through the snow to see the play "Beauty and the Beast".  It was fabulous and we laughed through it, especially when Gaston was singing all about himself. 

 

After 2 days in Fort Collins, we drove south to the Denver Temple, then to Colorado Springs to spend the weekend with our cousins.

Josh got to try skiing for his first time ever.

He did just fine!  Lyrad and I have skied a total of twice in our 20 years together, so 6-year-old Elyse was my "teacher".  She told me to follow her and do what she did...  and she was a fearless little pro!  I was very impressed at how Elyse, Ben and Sam have picked up skiing.

We had so much snow while we were there!  The cousins all had fun in their backyard, in Mara's bear cave.

Josh missed 3 days of school but it was worth all the make-up work, to see his cousins and snow!

Back inside the warm house -- we got to listen to Mara and Becky play and sing beautiful music (Mara's in her school play of "Les Mis") and we only had one hour of church because of all the snow.  It was fun hanging out with them in their huge home and seeing them once again!
