License plate

Sadly, it's time to retire our "7Rileys" license plate.  NOT because Isaac left home and we're down to "6Rileys", but because bankrupt California charges too much for car registration.  So the Big Decision at the Florida DMV was a tough one:  what kind of license plate should we choose?  I have NEVER seen the variety of license plates that Florida displays.  Space shuttle, dolphins, turtles, boy scouts, air force, all the FL universities.... you name it, and your cause is probably represented here.  I couldn't decide between the adorable turtles, the cool space shuttle plate, and the "Choose Life" plate.  But I decided that the best cause for the vanity-plate-money to go towards would be crisis pregnancy centers promoting adoption, so I chose the "Choose Life" plate.  But the problem was, there was only room for 5 letters on the plate, so "7Rileys" was out.   "Riley" was already taken, and I was stumped.  I'd already been at the DMV for hours, I had unhappy teenagers sitting on the porch at home waiting to be let in, and I can't make a quick decision on the spot like that.  So I picked the first 5-letter word that came to mind that I knew would not be taken already:  LYRAD.  When I told Lyrad, he burst out laughing and was sure I was kidding.  It was NOT what he would've chosen!  Josh was quick to point out that I should've picked "JOSHR" or "JOSHY".  Oh well.  Maybe next time.  Until then, we'll join the ranks of Florida mini-vans sporting the bright yellow "Choose Life" plate.  (Eliza and Madi are not happy about the obnoxious plate, but we actually only drive the van to church and on family outings.  I usually just use our smaller car, since I don't have a teenager driving it right now.)  I'll post a picture of our cool license plate once it arrives in the mail.
