Isaac and Rachel Rachel's middle school band sounded great! But unfortunately, band at her school is too intense and she's not enjoying it much. They have regular sectionals, after school or at 6:50 in the morning, and the band directors get mad if a student tries to do any other activities that might conflict with sectionals (such as Glee, school musical, sports). Lyrad and I were amazed at the contrast with CA schools: in CA, the middle school band teacher was in charge of 3 schools each day, and in Texas the middle school has 3 full-time band instructors.
