Cheering on Rachel

Rachel had a great baseball season. When the coach found out we were moving and would miss the last 2 games, he moved one game a day earlier and asked if Rachel could please stay long enough to play. Lyrad and Josh were leaving CA on a Friday morning, but the coach moved the game to that Friday night, so Rachel and I stayed in CA all day Friday, left after her game, drove 3 hours to Reno, then drove across Nevada the next day to Utah. We met up with Lyrad and Josh in Utah and caravaned through Utah, New Mexico, and Texas together. Running to 3rd
And what a great game Rachel's last game was! She pitched one inning, then played shortstop the rest of the game. She was up to bat four times and scored twice. Once when she crossed home plate, the umpire called her out. Rachel's coach was so mad, he stomped over and yelled at the coach that she'd made it, but the umpire said she was out. Rachel's team was the "least experienced" in the league and during the season they'd had losing scores such as 1-15. So when Rachel's team won this game we'd stayed one more day for, we were ecstatic! It was worth it to stay and watch Rachel and her team try so hard!
