Lyrad and I went kayaking with Becky and Keyan (Lyrad's brother). We drove to a river 20 minutes away, dropped one car off at a parking lot downstream, then drove the truck with the kayaks upstream. After about 3 hours of beautiful kayaking, the rain began. We were soon drenched but that was okay, because we were almost to the car... but arriving at the car, I realized that I'd left the car keys in the truck upstream. So began a long wet, cold hour in the pouring rain until we figured out how to get to the truck (Becky's friend lived in that area and came to rescue us). That was our first experience being cold and shivering in Florida. (I do prefer cold weather to hot weather. But I like being in a warm house with warm blankets during cold weather, not outside in the cold rain.) Overall it was a fun outing, and I can guarantee I will never forget the keys again on a kayaking trip!
